Whoops! A new post on a Sunday?? Well, you see... I dropped the ball. But I'm going to blame it on the fact that last Thursday was Valentine's Day and we were just out celebrating it up! This episode is pretty awesome if you're interested at all in traveling... I mean let's be honest... who isn't?? Especially once you get those language skills down, there'll be literally nothing stopping you from hopping on a flight to the land of your dreams. My dream land.... Puerto Rico, always and forever. Let the New Year begiiinnn!! Have you started any of your new goals? My husband's goals are to be more active and to eat more soup (he's a weirdo.) So yesterday we started the New Year by hiking 6 miles and then going over to my parents' to eat some of my mom's homemade soup. And then today, I made a delicious white chicken chili from Ambitious Kitchen. I'd say he started off the new year on the right foot. As for my goals, I don't really have any. I want to have some but I j

I love this time of the year because it means I get to see a lot of family members I don't usually see. Like my 2 year old nephew! He's very active right now and extremely curious. He loves to just grab everything he sees. But he's also very vocal! He can almost say the whole alphabet perfectly! I thought about him when I saw this short little S

Maybe it’s too soon to talk about this as people are still jumping on the “New Year, New You” train but am I the only one that is absolutely annoyed by other people trying to convince you to better yourself? Everywhere you look you see people telling you to write out your daily goals and to schedule your whole day in 30 minute increments so you can get everything done and become this super efficient robot. Ok, maybe they’re not telling you to do that last one but they’re defi

The Internet has taken over the world. It’s taken over our entertainment, our hobbies, our careers, and even our education. Is that a bad thing? I’ll let you mull that over but let’s skip that question. The robots and machines are here so we might as well put them to good use. Now, I will admit apps confuse me. Technically, I’m a millennial and should understand all techy things but somehow I missed that boat. I don’t like them. They take space up in my phone and attempt to d
How to get started? I think this step is the hardest. Sometimes if you’ve been thinking about it for too long dreaming of the day when you can finally have a conversation in French/Russian/etc, it’s hard to turn that nimbus-like idea and turn it into action. So my one piece of advice is: just do something… anything! Choose one little thing to do and do that for 20 days in a row. Then after the 20 days, either change it to something else or just add one more action on top of t
I wrote a post earlier about how reading is the most convenient way to practice a language. You have a 5 minute wait for your pizza to be ready? Get out your book and read! You have a 20 minute bus ride to the yoga class you’re taking? Get out your book! Yes, music is convenient too but if you’re anything like me… you have no idea where your headphones are at this moment. So reading it is! I’ve been reading more and more lately and thought I would share with you the treasures
